Robert Shock
Director of Coaching

Coach Shock is a highly respected coach and athletic leader with a proven track record
of developing student-athletes and building successful programs. He currently serves as
the  Head Girls Flag Football coach at Long Beach Polytechnic High School, where he
has led the program with a focus on fundamentals, strategy, and team culture, achieving
high levels of success over the past 4 years.


As the Athletic Director at Long Beach Poly for the past 19 years, Rob has driven
Excellence, Equity, and Opportunity across all sports and academics, leaving a lasting
legacy and a long list of successful elite level athletes and scholars.
Rob also contributes to the National Football landscape as a Talent ID Scout for USA
Football, helping to identify and develop emerging talent at the highest levels in Flag.
Known for his leadership, integrity, and passion for mentorship, Rob Shock continues to
inspire student-athletes and peers alike, making a lasting impact in his students lives -
both on and off the field.

Earl McCullouch Jr.
Head Coach

A proud Long Beach Poly High School graduate (1995), Earl McCullouch Jr. excelled in
football and basketball, earning him a spot at Golden West College, where he played
football and ran track (1996-1997). He further honed his skills in semi-pro football with
the Long Beach Lions (2000-2009).

With over two decades of experience coaching middle school sports in the LBUSD
(2000-2023), Earl has fostered a culture of excellence, discipline, and resilience at Mary
Butler, Nelson, and Hughes middle schools. As the newly appointed Head Coach at
Cabrillo High School (2024), he is committed to empowering young women to succeed
in sports and beyond.

As the son of Hall of Famer and NFL Rookie of the Year Earl McCullouch Sr., Earl
embodies the values of hard work, accountability, and perseverance. His coaching
philosophy prioritizes student-athlete development, equipping young women with the
skills, confidence, and adaptability to thrive in life, regardless of their athletic pursuits.
For Earl, it's about cultivating well-rounded individuals who excel in the classroom, on
the field, and in life.

Jonathan Weston Sr.
Coach

A proud L.B. Wilson High School graduate (1998), Jonathan Weston Sr. excelled in
football and track, earning him a spot at Golden West College, where he played football
and ran track (2000-2004). He further honed his skills in semi-pro football with the Long
Beach Lions (2005-2009).

With over a decade of coaching experience in the LBUSD (2009-2023), Jonathan has
inspired young athletes at Wilson and Poly high schools, as well as John Muir, Tincher
Middle School, Mary Butler, and Nelson middle schools. He has also contributed to the

development of youth football as a coach with the LB Patriots in SYFL (2010-2017). As
Assistant Head Coach at Cabrillo High (2024), he continues to foster a culture of
teamwork, discipline, and growth.

For Jonathan, flag football is a teaching game that extends beyond the field. His
approach emphasizes building confident, intelligent, and disciplined athletes who
embody the values of teamwork and continuous learning. By focusing on the
development of the whole athlete, he empowers young individuals to succeed in all
aspects of life.

Crystal Elston, MA, ATC,
Certified Athletic Trainer & Sports Management

With a career experience working with athletes at the high school, collegiate, and elite
levels. She has a Bachelor’s of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic
Training and a Master’s degree in Sports Management from Long Beach State.
With a career spanning high school, collegiate, and elite levels, Crystal brings expertise
in injury prevention, rehabilitation, and emergency care. and has worked with athletes at
Long Beach State, Loyola Marymount University, and Long Beach Poly High School.
Crystal's experience extends to local rugby clubs and NFLPA Combine events, where
she's supported elite athletes in achieving peak performance. Her passion lies in
empowering athletes to safely return to play, prioritizing long-term health and
performance.
