Our Story
ROULA was inspired by the inaugural season of the 2024–25 LBUSD Girls Flag Football teams. The confidence, determination, resilience, and pride radiating from these young athletes were truly palpable. It was their strength and empowerment that inspired us to take this leap.
Girls' flag football is rapidly gaining momentum. With backing from USA Football, all 32 NFL teams, and the IOC's decision to include flag football in the 2028 Olympic Games, it’s no surprise the sport is taking off fast. The NCAA’s recent recommendation to add flag football to the emerging sports for women reinforces what we already know: this is more than just a game - it’s a powerful gateway to self-confidence and collegiate opportunity!
As a mother of three female Division I scholarship athletes, I feel a deep responsibility to help create tangible pathways for girls of all backgrounds - regardless of economic status - to access the game and all the opportunities it can create.
