Our Story
At ROULA, we are driven by a passion to empower young women through Sport. Our journey began with the inaugural season of Poly High School's Girls Flag Football team, where we witnessed firsthand the confidence, determination and pride radiating from these athletes. It was their resilience, passion and success that inspired me to take this leap.
Girls' flag football is the fastest growing sport in the US. With backing from USA Football, the NFL, and the IOC's decision to Flag Football to the 2028 Olympic games, it’s no surprise the sport is exploding!
Women's flag football is now officially recognized as an NCAA Emerging Sport for women, and is on track to achieve full National Collegiate Championship status.The NFL and TMRW Sports are partnering to launch a new professional flag football league that is currently backed by a $32M investment, and beginning May 2027, Southern California Women's Pro Flag Football League (SCWPFFL) will launch their full 3 month regular season with top female flag football athletes from all over Southern California.
This expansive growth across the country, only reinforces what we already know: this is more than just a game - it’s a powerful gateway to expanding women's opportunities into college, Pro sports and even Olympic aspirations!
As the mother of three female Division I scholarship athletes, I feel a deep responsibility to help create more tangible pathways for girls of all backgrounds - regardless of economic status - to access the game and all the opportunities it can create!
